Life at Harvest goes beyond weekend worship

It’s about ministering to our families, our communities, and each other. There’s so much happening here—we want to make it easy for you to meet people and find out all our church has for you and your family. There’s no better time than now to take your next step of connection.

Discover Harvest

If you’re new to Harvest, this is the first step in the plugging in process. Discover Harvest is a great way to learn more about our vision, history, and priorities while you meet some of the ministry staff and other key leaders from our church.

The short informal meeting consists of a question and answer period, testimony, fellowship and light refreshments.

Small Groups

Do you long for spiritual growth? Do you want to become more like Christ, but find that it hard to do by yourself? If so, join us at Harvest where you will be involved in small group ministry.

Harvest Bible Chapel of Fresno is a church comprised of small groups. Our Mission is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by making quality disciples according to the Lord’s great commission in Matthew 28:18-20.

Harvest is committed to making quality disciples and is not as concerned about the quantity of disciples. A quality disciple is one who worships Christ, walks with Christ, and Works for Christ. Our goal is to be faithful to the Lord’s great commission, and to be deliberate about it on a weekly and daily basis.

Membership

The New Testament clearly indicates that groups of people who were followers of the Lord Jesus Christ identified themselves with, and committed themselves to a particular local body. In order to implement the principles of accountability and commitment to the local body of Christ, as defined in the New Testament and practiced in the early churches, Harvest Bible Chapel recognizes the need for formal membership. Membership at Harvest Bible Chapel is for all who are believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and have visibly demonstrated that commitment through believer’s baptism.

  1. Upon completion of Harvest Essentials Workshop, any person professing personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior who has expressed that commitment visibly by being baptized, should indicate their desire for membership on the membership application form given at the close of the third class of Harvest Essentials Workshop.  Complete this form and return it to one of our church Elders for further review and follow up.
  2. Once the application for membership is received the next step is an Elder interview. During the meeting with a church Elder, you as a prospective member will share your testimony of conversion to Christ, your baptism, and ask any remaining questions about the church.
  3. Your name will be placed in the bulletin or posted at the church for a period of two weeks. During this period members will be encouraged to clear up any relational or other difficulties which could hinder your ministry among us. This is done in the spirit of Matthew 18:15-17 so that both you and the Harvest family will benefit.
  4. At the end of the two week period approved candidates will be welcomed into membership.
  1. I have, by faith, become a follower of Jesus Christ and I have been baptized as a visible way of demonstrating that commitment.
  2. I am committed to worship Christ. As part of my worship-lifestyle, attending either the Saturday or Sunday services at Harvest is a high priority for me. Further, I am financially supporting the ministry of our church by giving back to the Lord a biblical portion of my increase
  3. I am continuing to walk with Christ and in fellowship with other Christ-followers through regular and personal study of the Bible, prayer, personal witness, involvement in a small group and by avoiding criticism of others and always seeking to biblically resolve any conflict in the spirit of Matthew 18:15-17.
  4. I am at work for Christ and have found my place of service at Harvest. I am committed to fruitful ministry by using my spiritual gifts for God’s glory.

Harvest isn’t just a church with small groups…we’re a church of smalls groups!

At Harvest Bible Chapel our focus is on the quality of discipleship. Small groups is our main vehicle to make disciples, and our goal is to have 100% of our people in a small group. The purpose of these groups is to minister to one another through effective prayer, mutual accountability and the application of the Word of God to our lives.

Our goal at Harvest Bible Chapel is to grow quality disciples who desire to glorify God in every area of their life. One of the essentials in meeting this goal is to identify a place to serve within our church that fits with your spiritual giftedness and ministry passion.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 4:10-11

Believers Baptism

At Harvest Bible Chapel we believe that Christian baptism by immersion in water is a public identification with Jesus Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. Although baptism is not required for salvation, it is commanded of all believers and is for believers only. Scripture shows that a person was baptized after personally receiving forgiveness of sin through accepting Jesus Christ. The waters of baptism are a symbol of our death, burial, and resurrection to newness of life that happens when we become a new creation in Christ.

If you are interested in baptism, we would love to hear your story and help you take this important step of faith.
